About Me

Welcome to Home Gym Life

I’m Drew and I started HGL in 2019 out of a passion for strength and conditioning and an interest in building a home gym within my small basement apartment. I’ve now transitioned into my second garage gym, and I’m happy to have shared much of that process online.

Our goal at HGL is simple: provide thorough and helpful information for people that are building their home gym – whether this be on topics like home gym design, equipment recommendations, equipment reviews or the science of training.

I’ve been lucky to scale my home gym over the years, but made some mistakes along the way. I hope that by sharing my experiences you can avoid these mistakes and get the most out of your home gym from the get go.

In the ‘real world’, I have a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree and Masters of Science in Kinesiology specializing in Biomechanics and I work as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for two Olympic teams. This academic and professional experience helps me cut through much of the junk we see online about fitness and equipment, helping to give you the best resources possible.

Thanks for checking out Home Gym Life. Take a look around and drop a comment if you’d like us to tackle a topic on your behalf.
